Grew a pair.
I have been at my job now for over a year and usually by now you would probably get some sort of raise. I have had two really good reviews since I have been there and yet no raise. I am usually one to just let it go and let things happen. I am not one to go put my foot down and be like look I have improved a lot since I have started and I work really hard and really well so I should have a raise by now. I am in the process of getting licensed so that makes me look even better.
My boyfriend has been getting at me to ask for a raise for months and people at work have been too so today I finally grew a pair and sat down with my boss and talked to her.
Basically told I've evaluated how I've been doing since I started work there and that I have improved a lot and I work really hard etc and then I asked if I could have a raise. I definitely could have said I deserve a raise or something of that sort but I didn't. She agreed that I do deserve one. And gave me props for coming to her to ask for one because it takes a lot to do that.
She offered me salary position and I was like shocked because I figured she would want me licensed for that but I guess not. I told her I would think about it over the weekend because that is a big decision to go from hourly to salary. I have always been used to the over time which was a nice boost in my paycheck. She said people are just used to that 8-5 and expect that's when they will go home. I told her it doesn't bother me to be past my "scheduled" time. I don't have kids to go home to or anything like that. I said i would think about it over the weekend and then we will talk again on Monday. Could she make me work over 40 if she puts me on salary, yes but I doubt she would. I am always willing to help cover. I don't normally get over time and I haven't in awhile it usually only happens when someone goes on vacation which doesn't happen often. These past three weeks though I have been getting over time and my paycheck should be pretty nice.
Good thing too because next Thursday is the STEAM SUMMER SALE. HOT DAMN:)
nah I wont spend too much I know I need to save up.
My boyfriend is helping me pay my school. He is giving me $80 a month and its $91.66 so that really helps. I didn't want him to but he said he doesn't date a quitter so either take the money or leave. alright then take the money haha.
He is proud that I finally got the courage to ask for my raise and got the answer I deserve. If it wasn't for him pushing me all the time I probably would have just let it go. My last job took 2 years before I got a raise and it was a dollar and only because I was there star kennel attendant because everyone else left and I was picking up the slack and had the greatest common sense. I was a bad ass at my last job, seriously.
Anywho it is fathers day this weekend so I will be going home because I cant afford to give my dad anything just my time which what could be better especially since I don't live at home anymore.
