Week 11

Little behind but things are kind of just becoming the norm now. Nothing too big changing in maine other than the rest of the counties have been able to open up the rest of their stuff again with rules of course.

Work is what it is now. Extremely busy and still chaotic. Days go by fast at work. Next month we will start Saturdays again yuck not fun. We will also have one less doctor to work on a Saturday as well. So the other doctors do not want to rotate more often.

Meal prepping going well. scored two for two so far. I think this week will also be a good one. I am enjoying it i must say. Making them healthy of course. Went to Sebago Lake all day yesterday in the 90 degree heat. it was perfect! crowded as all hell but the lake was so nice to swim in and the pup had a blast.

Today is a more chilled day. got up to take care of medical boarders and did groceries, came back and started meal prepping and then made cookies. had to give away my sea dogs brewing hard seltzer to the neighbors because whatever they put in the drinks upsets the intestines. but they went to a good home. So far my favorite brands are Henry's, White Claw, Truly, and Bon and Viv. There are more to try of course. Summer full of experiences. Glad I live near a liquor store that carries a HUGE variety of alcohol and a neighbor who sells it so she always has fun things to try. 

Tried birthday cake and apple pie kit kats this week and oh boy they are INCREDIBLE. the birthday cake one tastes like frosted animal cookies and the apple pie really does remind me of apple pie. Highly recommend. Found at Walgreen's and Walmart. 

Ready for another work week. Also happy fathers day or paw-thers day to all the dads out there human and fur babies alike.

 NOMV. What is this not one more vet that is talked about in the profession you may ask? The veterinary profession has one of the highest suicide rates known. And i can tell you Covid made it twice as worse. People are mean and nasty, the profession as a whole is overworked, underpaid, and under appreciated. Its not just about the veterinarians its about all the staff, the techs and receptionists. We all get beaten down. Unfortunately a lot of people in this profession go into it already having there own mental struggles to begin with and the field exaggerates it.  See my previous post for more on this topic. I signed up to do the virtual walk this year. It is the second year they are doing it. I am very passionate about this cause. I have talked about it in a previous post. They are trying to start a chapter in Portland Maine and i signed up to be a part of that. Zoetis is the biggest sponsor behind it. We need to spread more awareness and get more resources and help change this field

Bake Bake Bake my life away

I made some pumpkin cream cheese muffins the other night for friend dinner night and they were a huge success. I will be making baked frosted donuts with sprinkles tomorrow. I do try to bake at least once a week. I cant bake at all at my boyfriends place which sucks because he literally has nothing i need and buying a stand mixer which i use all the time is a bit pricey so one day when i move out of the parents house into a place with said boyfriend i can start to bake more which is like another year or so.. I haven't really made my own recipes, im not that good but im also still learning and sometimes i add my own twist to things to try it out and usually comes out just as good. I have a few of my own things but not very many. I will slowly add to my baking collection over the next couple years. My mom bought me a ceramic red pie plate today to call my very own:) I have really have become to love baking and i am trying my hand at cooking as well but that can be a bit more expens
