Time just blurs together

I was doing weekly updates but really all the weeks just blurred together with not too much going on.  I had my usual vacation up to East Grand Lake. The weather was great and the pup and i were in the water every day! did a lot of kayaking. saw some otters :).  ran every morning. vacation was not long enough. work is a mess. chaos almost every day. we have lost receptionists and so techs have to step in to help which takes them away from the back and we become short handed as well. its a constant problem. thankfully we haven't had to work any Saturdays yet. has been really nice. the weather in Maine has been hot and humid which is not me so i have not been hiking as much. went yesterday because it was finally cool enough for me and it was great. not a soul there. traffic is also an issue depending on where i want to go.  Debating on doing the VTNE this year. have had no urge to study because im tired when i get home from work and i go right to cooking dinner and then pretty much

Week 11

Little behind but things are kind of just becoming the norm now. Nothing too big changing in maine other than the rest of the counties have been able to open up the rest of their stuff again with rules of course. Work is what it is now. Extremely busy and still chaotic. Days go by fast at work. Next month we will start Saturdays again yuck not fun. We will also have one less doctor to work on a Saturday as well. So the other doctors do not want to rotate more often. Meal prepping going well. scored two for two so far. I think this week will also be a good one. I am enjoying it i must say. Making them healthy of course. Went to Sebago Lake all day yesterday in the 90 degree heat. it was perfect! crowded as all hell but the lake was so nice to swim in and the pup had a blast. Today is a more chilled day. got up to take care of medical boarders and did groceries, came back and started meal prepping and then made cookies. had to give away my sea dogs brewing hard seltzer to the n

Week 10

alright a little behind on my weeks. Last week was back to a sort of normal schedule. only 3 doctors each day but it was a better transition that way. it went okay. I had Thursday off, usually wednesday but my day will change for now. Still doing curbside which can be hectic at times. Definitely getting my steps in. But it is what it is now. Getting hot wearing masks all the time and wrangling dogs and cats but that's life now i guess. super busy at work, summer always picks up more. Started meal prepping on Sunday for this week and it went well. I think i will enjoy it. Corey eats them too for lunch. I wont do breakfast or dinners but i can eat the lunches for dinner if i want. I have found a lot of recipes to work with. Im excited. Didn't do too much on the weekend. Went boating last week after work. really nice way to end the day.  Not much else to say about last week. took corey to the ER because he fell cleaning the boat so having to cater to him. didnt break anything

Week 9

Busy week at work but went by fast. This week is my last week off before we go back to working every week...should be interesting..not. It's going to be all hell on wheels. They want us to be together but stay separated in the building from one another..just keep us separated it is just much easier. I was starting to enjoy my time off. Especially with the nicer weather here. Saturday I turned 30. Uneventful. Highlight of my day was free Starbucks beverage and free fried shrimp basket from Schutty's. Got some chowder and steamers from my favorite place last night with the neighbors but other than that quite uneventful. Didn't ask for anything didn't get anything. When you are an adult you can afford to buy what you want on your birthday I suppose. I kind of missed out on having a cake though. I do like a good cake for my birthday. Didn't do any hiking because the tourists plowed right in to Maine this weekend so avoided all that. I did dye my hair well more like t

Week 8

Last week was my off week. Weather was quite nice. Had some great hiking and swimming (for the pup). pretty chill week. finished it with lobster and crab dinner with the neighbors on the weekend. This week work opened up for Monday with one doctor and two techs to just do pre-scheduled annuals. It went very smoothly it was nice not to have the phones ringing. Obviously we talked about how work should be handled after this month. I know they are pushing us to get back together but there is more stress trying to figure out how to keep people as safe as possible. we also have a doctor leaving in July so if we stay separate until July and ease back together then the transition of loosing a doctor will not be as much of a smack in the face. They just need to figure what they are going to do and stick to it and don't keep changing their minds. And to decided last minute what we are going to do is also annoying so. Things are obviously opening up more but im continuing to only go out w

Week 7

This past week was work week. It went by super fast and i think, overall, it went pretty smoothly. Our team gets a long so well its great. Unfortunately the other team does not which is the cause of us merging back together next month..its going to be really rough. It was really rough the week we started curbside and the whole team was together before we split up. i couldn't walk away from the phones because they never stopped ringing..all 4 lines.  We decided to work the following Monday when we come back. Vaccine appointments only, pre -scheduled and no in coming calls. over time so that's all i care about. i'm fine working 5 days a week.  Sunday i visited my parents because it was mother's day. I always know its the best gift you can give your mom when you don't live with them anymore. They don't care about gifts they just want to spend time with you. So that was nice Today i got my haircut, man did that feel good. worth every penny to have weight lifte

Week 6

Image
This week was okay. Did not do as much school work as I had planned haha. no surprise there motivation is hard to find these days. did some nice hiking. played a lot of sims haha. Doing a lot of good reading. Our work told us we will be doing our thing until the end of may. But pet grooming is opened back up and we are having the managers from each area of the hospital work both weeks so I don't really see how splitting teams is worth while any more since the whole point is to not effect everyone in the hospital if someone gets sick but now that won't matter as they mix people. still working Tuesday through Friday. trying to end appointments at 4 so we can catch up on calls and prescriptions. really wish I was still getting unemployment because I could than stimulate the economy but now I'm back to my regular pay i cannot do that. sad. although I'm not getting paid for the amount of hours I normally work. which is a bit annoying. but nothing I can do about that. I don

Week 5

This week was a work week for me. It went by quickly. Got big top deli on Tuesday from a rep (great local sandwhich place) and Pats Pizza on Friday (also local pizza place). Helped make the week a bit better and we had another co worker bring us her homemade whoopie pies. DELICIOUS!  Definitely miss being all together. so far our split teams will continue into May. don't know how long into May. Found out that we are going to paid on our weeks of thanks to the Payroll Protection Program. although that means I will be going back to a regular income and losing that nice extra boost. Right back to not being able to stimulate the economy on my regular income just pay bills haha. Some people are even refusing to be hired back to work because they are being paid more right now but that only lasts until June I believe. After that what are those people gonna do. The money is going to go somewhere and then you'll need your job again. All this stuff going on really puts things in per

Week 4

Another Corona week in the books. this was my week off. Much better than last time because the weather was great and we hiked pretty much every day. and did not see a lot of people. Read a lot; started the magicians series since i have watched the show. book is different than the show but both are very good on their own. hung out with the neighbors this weekend. thats the only people we've been hanging out with since they are literally in our front yard so might as well. Allows for some socializing. I'll be going into work on Monday for some cleaning. Gives me some extra hours which is nice. So far the work schedule is continuing into beginning of may. i wouldnt be surprised if it continued. Although i wouldn't mind because im getting paid more now that i am working half than i would be working full which should say something about my normal salary..... This extra money will help pay off one of my student loans off, along with the stimulus check. right now its just goin

Week 3

We have come to the end of week 3-my working week. Even though its only 4 days of work we are extremely busy and i am exhausted at the end of the week for sure. Thankfully we have a group of people who work well together so that definitely helps. Monday i hiked 4.6 mile trail and the weather was perfect and pup got to swim. She had a blast. not one single person on the trail. it is one of my favorites and not as well known apparently. We got like 6 inches of snow thursday night. Was not expecting that at all. We thought we were going to get just rain. It was some of the worst snow i had driven in compared to the whole winter season since technically its now Spring. A lot of people lost power and are just getting it back with another wind/rain storm coming Monday that will probably cause more people to lose power. Today is easter and we are all celebrating it a bit differently this year. Times are tough but we must stick together, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. After my 4

Week 2

Survived another week of Covid-19 2020. the economy is crashing around us and the US has more cases than any other country and continues to rise, including the deaths. our president is an idiot but what else is new.  people from new york and mass are driving to their homes in maine to isolate themselves but naturally they are bringing the crap with them. unless its essential to travel somewhere don't freaking do it. beaches and state parks are closing in Maine because people are swarming to them and hanging out in groups. i am trying to find hiking trails for my next 9 days off that aren't going to be swarming with tons of people. Like i get you want to be outside thats great but be cautious of where you are going. highly popular places aren't going to cut it. there are plenty of off trails that aren't as well known. i did have some highlights, i got several compliments from people manager positions and all about how awesome i have been stepping up helping all the area

Week 1

Last week was the first week the coronavirus pandemic situation really started to hit the United States, physically, mentally, economically you name it. It is effecting everyone in different ways whether health or financial its a huge impact. My job switched to curbside service not letting anyone in the building except employees. It has been a challenge to get used to but most clients are very thankful for it. we have a lot of elderly clients too. The world is in a panic and everyone is coming together as much as they can during this time. Schools have stepped up immensely trying to feed the kids who rely on that food because its hard to get it at home. Local small restaurants are suffering incredibly hard and some have had to close but the ones who haven't are doing curbside or delivery or supplying people with things they may not even be able to find in grocery stores right now. Stores are changing hours and hiring more people to help stock and clean which is nice to give jobs d

March 2020

In like a lion out like a lamb as they say. This year has already has had its ups and downs. Along with going through some personal things in my relationship i finally graduated Penn Foster after 4 years and it feels damn good. February 22 was the actual day i was done. Externship was a lot of work but i really enjoyed it. the large animal was really fun and i learned a lot. I remember i was at work on that Saturday and got the email and just hooted and hollered in excitement. The doctor i was working with was happy for me too. it is a huge relief off my shoulders for sure. the next thing is to sit for the VTNE this summer. It's better to keep the information fresh and going then wait and take it later on. Once i am done i can really just relax. The test cost $320 which is beyond ridiculous but I have someone who will be helping me pay which is great. The weather is getting warmer which is great because ill start back up hiking again. I did some snowshoeing this winter but the sn
